The museums are located throughout the Pinal County region and  neighboring counties. Pinal County is located in the central part of the state and is now  the 3rd largest county in the State of Arizona.

Located in the northern part of the Sonoran Desert, with a total area of 5,374 square miles the landscape ranges widely. Driving through the county to visit local museums will provide an opportunity to see the iconic saguaro cactus forests, mesquite trees, desert wildlife, mountain ranges, rivers and washes, cotton fields, historic mine sites, and more.

Pinal County was created in 1875 from parts of Maricopa County and Pima County.  It includes parts of the Tohono O’odham Nation, the Gila River Indian Community and the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation, as well as the entirety of the Ak-Chin Indian Community.
